I am not a licensed contractor
I’ve spent 10+ years as an owner-builder and investor, and I run technical topics past licensed contractors I work with. But I’m not a licensed contractor, architect, engineer, electrician, plumber or home inspector, and nothing here replaces hiring one for your project. The contractors who review my work don’t provide services to readers through this site. Building codes, permit rules and licensing requirements vary by city, county, state and country. Always check with your local building department, and hire licensed, insured professionals for structural, electrical, plumbing, gas, roofing and other work that affects safety or needs a permit.
